Crab and Winkle Railway Tunnel

Went for a wander with foo to find the north end of the Crab and Winkle railway tunnel at lunchtime today.

Apparently this was the first passenger railway tunnel when built in 1826, and didn't close until 1952.

In 1974, a section of the tunnel under the University of Kent caved in leading to the collapse of part of the cornwallis building

The tunnel is now full of concrete, and the south end is located somewhere in the grounds of Archbishops School, but the northern end is relatively easy to find.
